Visit to Bath, Bristol and Wells 7-9 September 2011
8 SEPTEMBER 2011
This entailed a walking tour in Bristol. Meeting at the harbour for the ferry to SS Great Britain, the group visited the exhibition, ship and shop and had lunch before continuing to the Dockyard Museum with its many artefacts and fascinating interactive displays.
The walking tour progressed to St. Mary Redcliffe Church, Queens Square, Corn Market, Wesley Chapel and Millennium Square where the statue of actor Cary Grant (born Archibald Alexander Leach) is proudly displayed.
Returning to the hotel, some of the ladies in the group then headed out to enjoy a meal in a restaurant owned by a certain young celebrity chef!
